FINALIST: Best Small Fictions 2017 | “Upfurler” | Pure Slush FIVE Anthology

Although this is a print / PDF release, I’m hoping you’ll support this great publisher by ordering a copy in print or to download.  Support small presses, if you can.  Pure Slush is celebrating its fifth anniversary, and did so by putting out a call for stories incorporating the word five.

Here is a link if you’d like to make a closer inspection of the Pure Slush Five Anthology.

The story of mine that was accepted, “Upfurler,” is my 9/11 story.  I was always kind of bummed that the sculptor Eric Fischl took his “Tumbling Woman” sculpture out of public view.  People still need to see that, and understand.

UPDATE: Thrilled to report that this will be reprinted at Flash Fiction Net soon, and a digital copy will then be available to share.  My hope is that it brings any surviving family some comfort, some joy, some wonder.

    1. I don’t know that I could have started a blog any sooner than I did. As per Hamlet, the readiness is all. Thank you so much for visiting, Gay!
