It’s time for my first-ever live reading of some of my flash fiction! I’ve been invited by Paul Beckman to read at the very first FBomb Flash Fiction Reading Series event in New York City! This event is an offshoot of the popular FBomb series in Denver.

I’ve been practicing, and I think I’ll read my two most popular stories, and if there’s time something maybe a third new thing.  I’ll definitely read “Summer Baby” from SmokeLong Quarterly, and of course it will be my privilege and honor to read “Upfurler” in NYC so near to 9/11. Can’t wait!

Nancy Stohlman is the creator and curator of The F-Bomb Flash Fiction Reading Series in Denver, a founding member of Fast Forward Press, and her work has been recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is a teacher of flash workshops, a college teacher, and an award winning author of six books, the latest being, “The Vixen Scream and Other Bible Stories”
Alice Kaltman is a writer, surfer, and parenting coach. She is the author of STAGGERWING, a collection of stories forthcoming in October 2016 from Tortoise Books. Her work appears or is forthcoming in numerous journals including Whiskey Paper, Storychord, Luna Luna Magazine, the Atticus Review, People Holding, Chicago Literati and Joyland, where her story STAY A WHILE was selected as a Longform Fiction Pick of the Week.
Loren Kleinman’s poetry has appeared in literary journals such as Drunken Boat, The Moth, Columbia Journal and more. Her fourth collection of poetry (prose poems), Stay with Me Awhile, released April 2016 via Winter Goose Publishing and her debut novel, This Way to Forever released with Evatopia Press late August 2016.

Jan Elman Stout’s work is published in Literary Orphans, the Journal of Compressed Creative Arts, Vestal Review and elsewhere. She was recently a finalist in the Midwestern Gothic Summer 2016 Flash Fiction Contest. Jan is an Assistant Fiction Editor at Indianola Review.
Jolene McIlwain’s work has been published in Prairie Schooner online, The Fourth River, and elsewhere, and has twice been a finalist in Glimmer Train’s contests, earning an Honorable Mention and a Top 25 designation. She’s the recipient of an artist grant from the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and the Georgia Court Faculty Scholarship for Chautauqua Writers’ Festival, and she teaches part-time at Duquesne and Chatham Universities in Pittsburgh.
Paul Beckman was one of the winners in the Queens Ferry Press 2016 Best Small Fictions.
